Tonight I had an adventure. An exciting adventure filled with mystery and terror, deception and betrayal.
It all started out innocently enough when I used an available newspaper to make a sailor’s hat. I then discovered that I had been transformed into a pirate king, my dorm room into my prized vessel and my roommate and visiting friend my crew. Ah, we had great times, we three. My roommate, being a freshman, naturally was assigned to swab the decks scrupulously, while my friend, a senior, became my first mate. Off we sailed to storm the castle (otherwise known as the front desk…)! They gave in with hardly a fight – how could they do otherwise when they were trembling with fear at the sight of us? (Did I mention that my weapon was my fierce and hardy hairbrush?…) It may also have had something to do with the fact that a girl standing in the near vicinity was wearing a banana costume….
As we sailed away in triumph there was mutiny on the Bounty as my first mate attempted to steal my hat, and thus my honour and power. She failed in her attempt, but in the process my hat was irreparably damaged. Whereupon it became Caesar’s crown, and I the emperor himself!! (wait…pronouns…) She assumed the role of an assassinating senator claiming that the pen (her weapon) was mightier than the sword (luckily I had no sword). Thus commenced a war of entrance with she on the outside and her sister and me inside. Eventually a truce was called and terms of peace drawn up. Having somewhat to do with broken flip-flops and wanting to go to bed.
These were grand times, I tell you! Times of danger, adventure, and most of all, fun.
