In Progress

In order from newest to oldest projects…

  • Washcloths: Some friends recently bought a house and are having a housewarming party. I am knitting them some washcloths because every home needs something hand knitted.

  • Watermelon Socks: I’m past the gusset and well into the foot and starting to get a bit pink. I pulled a few yards of white out so the sock would turn pink more quickly.

  • Raindrops and Wildflowers Cowl: this is my second time knitting this pattern. I don’t normally re-knit patterns, and I am having a hard time with this one. On the original I ran out of yarn before the final border, so I have to re-knit for pattern photos. I keep telling myself it is worth it…

What’s on your needles?

  1. love your socks! I have FOUR things on the needles right now, and three of them are B I G. A top down sweater, I am past the divide for the arms and so figure I am about half way done; a sweater vest from my own handspun (a first!) that is bottom up and above the waist, so about half way done. It’s fingering weight, so slow going. A lacey beaded shawl, also, I would guess, close to halfway done, and a pair of socks that is MOR Ethan halfway done! I have turned the heel on the second toe-up sock and have completed two of seven pattern repeats. Something will get done fairly soon! I work a little bit on each of the big things every evening, so very slow progress is being made. The socks go with me everywhere so they move along a little bit faster.

    1. Wow! You are ambitious! It’s nice to have different kinds of knitting for different circumstances. And that’s exciting to be making a garment from handspun! That’s definitely a future goal for me.
