Whew. This is a busy time of year! About a month ago my husband and I moved into a new apartment. We are loving the new space. I especially love our new wool rug!
And then this past week I started a new job. Wrapping my head around my new responsibilities has been a bit of a challenge, especially since I am working from a remote office and my boss and coworkers are all far away. I didn’t love my old job, but I had a lot of downtime, which I used to knit (I know, lucky me). My new job is much more challenging (I love a challenge), but I don’t get to knit at work anymore (boohoo). Also, in my new job I am typing and using the computer a lot more and I have hurt my wrist somehow and can barely knit. But that’s all part of life and I will get through it.
By the way, I am still looking for a few testers for my Ribless Hat. If you’re interested click here. I love this hat so much that it has become my go-to hat! It fits great and has the perfect amount of slouch.
What have you been up to?
Congratulations on the new job! I hope satisfaction from that makes up for lack of lknitting time. I, to, do some work from home for school. I also type and chart on a laptop relentlessly for work. I’ve learned a lot about ergonomics. I encourage you to consider a standing workstation for home. I purchased one I have it set up in my sewing room, which is now my school room, and use a Bluetooth keyboard and trackball mouse. These items get my body into a neutral position. Plus, standing is a lot better for you in the long run rather than sitting at a desk All the time. Before I tried this and before I got an actual sit to stand workstation at my offsite office, I had enough pain to also make it hard to knit. Scarey! If you have any questions, let me know I can share the one I ordered I found it off of Amazon. It was quite reasonably priced.
Thanks for the advice. I’m trying a wrist cushion in front of my keyboard to help with the pain, and if it doesn’t go away I’ll look at standing desk options.
Not being able to knit is so not cool.
Congrats on the new apartment, rug, and job! Sorry about no more knitting at work, though. Maybe there will be phone meetings? I always knit through any meeting. It saves lives. 🙂
Hope your wrist feel better soon!
Thanks 🙂 I would knit through meetings, but I am the designated note taker. Oh well.
Bummer!!!
I love the pic of the couch. I hope to buy one like some time this year. Good luck with your new job!
Thank you! After a year of use I still love the couch. It’s nice to have the option to sit or lounge.
