I have a project that I’ve wanted to start for quite a while (Ok, let’s be real, I have a lot of projects that I’ve wanted to start for a while, but I’m going to tell you about one today because I’ve finally started it!). I am making a teapot cozy!
It’s inspired by this:
And based on this:
But really it’s just my own weird mashup that I hope works out in the end. I’m using my own handspun as the base colour, the roof will be in a nubbly tan, the door will be dark green, and the windows will be grey. I figure embroidery cotton will make up the rest.
If this works out it may be my favourite thing ever.
My fiancé loves to give (and receive) gifts. There doesn’t have to be an occasion, it’s just his way of showing love. I love tea, so he gave me a tea infuser shaped like Nessie. Now I can drink tea in Scottish style!
While I was with my family over Christmas I took my two younger sisters out to a pottery painting place. I figured we could make fun memories and beautiful things to remind us of each other and the time we had together.
My sister the artist painted this. I am in awe of her skill. She has been diligently practicing and getting better and better. By the way, this was painted free-hand from a picture.
My sister the knitter, like me, does not enjoy coffee. So she painted a tea mug instead (the inside is brown, so I think it looks very hot-chocolatey).
I blog about crochet, knitting, painting and other craftsy stuff. I love working with natural colors and materials, dark roast coffee and Cadbury chocolate :) You can find my items on Etsy or at Crafters Gallery, Saratoga Springs.
